BTCCSquare news:

PancakeSwap, a leading decentralized exchange on the BNB Chain, confirmed its Chinese-language X account was compromised in a phishing attack on October 8, 2025. The hackers promoted a fraudulent token dubbed 'Sir Pancake,' amassing over $20 million in trading volume before the scam was uncovered.

The attackers mimicked PancakeSwap's official communications, directing users to counterfeit websites with subtle domain alterations. Unsuspecting victims who connected their wallets had funds drained instantly. PancakeSwap's team swiftly alerted users via its primary X account, urging them to avoid interacting with the compromised @PancakeSwapzh posts.
